The Patient Access Clerk (PAC) for dental discharge will be primarily focused on preparing and presenting treatment plans and financial estimates for patients.
The (PAC) is responsible for being knowledgeable with various insurance plans, manuals,exclusions, limitations and more, assuring they are giving patients the best possible information regarding their coverage and out of pocket expenses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND

1.
Greets patients in person and answers the telephone according to CommuniHealth Services' standards and transfers calls accordingly.
2.
Schedules appointments electronically according to scheduling policy.
3.
Assists patients with treatment plans and pre authorizations required for insurance purposes.
Explanation of the treatment plan and ability to address patient concerns and answer any questions.
4.
Enters accurate and complete data entry of information into CHS practice management system.
5.
Maintains patient confidentiality according to HIPAA laws and CHS policies and procedures as well as compliance with HRSA regulations.
6.
Receives and sorts faxes electronically and submits electronically to the appropriate person or department.
7.
Scans and indexes dental record documents into the Electronic Medical Record System and Dentrix.
8.
Financial arrangements as well as accurately collects and posts co-pays/deductible/co-insurance to patient accounts.
9.
Completes a daily deposit and transports deposit to the bank according to accounting policy.
10.
Maintains a tidy waiting area and work area visible to the public.
11.
Requests patient's medical records from other entities, when appropriate, to ensure continuity of care.
12.
Offers and assists all patients in completing sliding fee applications.
13.
Completes required CHS training per policy, maintains compliance with and knowledge of all CHS departmental, facility specific and system-wide policy and procedure, attends mandatory departmental meetings and/or training, and follows CHS Mission, Vision and Values in delivery of all services.
14.
Participates in all appropriate meetings within the organization.
15.
This position may require work beyond normal working hours.
16.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
EDUCATION:
1.
High School Diploma or GED SKILLS/
Experience:
1.
Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
2.
Clerical office experience preferred.
3.
Must maintain a professional personal presentation.
4.
Must possess excellent customer service skills.
5.
Ability to use discretion while working with sensitive information.
6.
Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
7.
Must be reliable and trustworthy.
8.
1 Year Dental Experience.
(Required) ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works in a well-lighted/ventilated office area of the facility.

Is subject to frequent interruptions.

Is involved with personnel, patients, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc.

Is willing to work beyond normal working hours:
weekends, holidays, and other shifts/positions as necessary.

Is subject to cuts, bruises, falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc.
