POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for performing a variety of clerical, non-professional pharmacy tasks such as retrieving and packaging prescription, entering customer data, ensuring efficient customer checkout service, and delivering prescription orders and products to CommuniHealth customers.
This position requires compliance with CommuniHealth Services written standards, including the Compliance Plan and policies and procedures (including the Code of Conduct).
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:

1.
Supports the workflow of the pharmacy by greeting patients, operating the POS system, stocking supplies, and triaging patient questions to the appropriate staff member.
2.
Provides excellent customer service by assisting patients during the check-out process, answering non-prescription questions, and responding to complaints.
3.
Scans items and keys products, ensures correct check-out totals, and maintains accurate money count in cash register drawer.
4.
Maintains patient confidentiality according to HIPAA laws and CHS policies and procedures as well as compliance with HRSA regulations.
5.
Completes a daily deposit and transports deposit to the bank according to accounting policy.
6.
Maintains a tidy waiting area and work area visible to the public.
7.
Provides timely and accurate delivery of medication, equipment, products, and supplies.
8.
Loads and organizes products and materials for delivery into delivery vehicle following safety guidelines.
9.
Completes delivery logs and submits supporting documentation.
10.
Matches medication to shipment packaging for confirmation of accuracy.
11.
Ensures safe operations of all delivery vehicles and compliance with all government laws and regulations.
12.
Maintains compliance with and knowledge of all CommuniHealth departmental, facility specific and system-wide policy and procedures.
13.
Maintains, and is in possession of, a valid Louisiana driver's license at all times.
14.
Maintains a good driving record clear of misdemeanors or felonies.
15.
Completes required CHS training per policy, maintains compliance with and knowledge of all CHS departmental, facility specific and system-wide policy and procedure, attends mandatory departmental meetings and/or training, and follows CHS Mission, Vision and Values in delivery of all services.
16.
Participates in all appropriate meetings within the organization.
17.
Maintains strictest confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA guidelines/regulations as well as compliance with HRSA regulations.
18.
This position may require work beyond normal working hours.
19.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Education:
1.
High School Diploma or GED Skills/
Experience:
1.
Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
2.
Current driver's license with good driving record (no misdemeanors or felony record).
3.
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
4.
Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
5.
Knowledge of motor vehicle functionality.
6.
Skilled in driving light and heavy vehicles.
7.
Time management skills.
Environmental/Working Conditions:
1.
Works in a well-lighted/ventilated office area of the facility.
2.
May require some driving in weather conditions such as rain, sleet or snow.
3.
Is subject to frequent interruptions.
4.
Is involved with personnel, patients, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc.

Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset personnel, patients, visitors, etc.
6.
Is willing to work beyond normal working hours:
weekends, holidays, and other shifts/positions as necessary.

Is subject to cuts, bruises, falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.

Requires sitting and some lifting 10-20 pounds associated with normal driving environment.
